Mission and History

NAPA VALLEY COALITION OF NONPROFIT AGENCIES

The Coalition was formed in 1995 when eight executive directors of nonprofit organizations met to discuss the concept of bringing health and human services agencies together for the purpose of mutual support. In 2008 the Coalition expanded its membership to include all Napa County nonprofits.

The Coalition is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization with regular, affiliate and honorary member organizations. We have affected public policy, strengthened the health and human services forum and increased the quantity and quality of services by means of our extensive membership and committee structure.

Collectively, our 64 regular member agencies:

• Employ 4,000 Napans
• Enjoy the services of 5,000 volunteers
• Spend $380 million annually

MISSION

The Coalition strengthens and supports its nonprofit members who work to improve the quality of life of Napa County residents.

VISION

The Coalition advocates for change

  • by providing--through its committees, activities and interactive website--a forum that promotes inclusion, fosters professionalism and encourages a supportive environment, thereby strengthening our membership and the services they provide to Napa Valley residents;

  • by serving as a conduit of information among our members, other nonprofit organizations, the community, funding sources and elected officials to keep all stakeholders informed and proactively serving the interests of Napa Valley residents; and

  • by engaging funding sources and elected officials on related issues to ensure a commitment to positive outcomes for all Napa Valley residents.
