Multiple Positions

Parent-Child Advocacy Network (ParentsCAN) is a nonprofit agency that provides resources and support to families in Napa County that have children with disabilities.

Program Staff Supervisor

CLASSIFICATION: 32 hours per week
EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt Status
REPORTS TO: Program Director
SALARY: DOE

Purpose of the Position
The purpose of the Program Staff Supervisor is to work in conjunction with the Program Director to provide oversight and accountability of direct service staff. Provides performance management to staff and ensures all grant and contract obligations are fulfilled. Participates in agency planning as a member of the Management Team.

Essential Functions
• Provides supervision to ParentsCAN direct service staff
• Establishes/maintains positive and effective working relationships with staff and partnering agencies
• Monitors staff calendars and negotiates schedules to ensure continuous coverage of services
• Authorizes staff timesheets and mileage reimbursement
• Oversees staff compliance with job descriptions and ParentsCAN policy and procedures
• Assigns new intakes and special projects to staff
• Assist staff with individual goals/objectives development
• Provides ongoing mentoring and coaching for staff
• Assist Program Director in preparing monthly and year end reporting
• Attends community meetings as a ParentsCAN representative
• Participates in weekly Management Team meetings

Skills/Experience Required
• Excellent skills in interpersonal communication, organization, time management
• 1-2 years experience supervising 5+ staff
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point
• Ability to work independently and as a team member

Skills/Experience Helpful
• Parent of a child or family member with a disability
• Previous experience working in a nonprofit

Program Staff Supervisor

Intake Coordinator/Office Assistant


CLASSIFICATION: 20 hours per week
EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt Status
REPORTS TO: Program Director
SALARY: $10-12/hr

Purpose of the Position
The purpose of the Intake Coordinator/Office Assistant is to provide exceptional customer service to visitors and callers and to perform intake function for families seeking ParentsCAN services. Also, performs a variety of administrative tasks which helps maintain an efficient and resourceful agency.

Essential Functions
• First contact and impression of ParentsCAN with phone callers and visitors to the office
• Handles all incoming calls within capacity/knowledge; routes calls as needed
• Acts as intake coordinator for new clients; assessing needs
• Providing general information and referrals to all who call
• Maintains reception area and updates resources

Office Support:
• Supports management team with correspondence, reports, coping and filing
• Assists with client and donor database - input, data management, reporting
• Maintains resource library, including check out, organization, ordering new books
• Miscellaneous administrative support of advocates and other staff
• Performs additional special projects as needed

Skills/Experience Required
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Excellent skills in communication, organization, customer service
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point
• Ability to work independently and as a team member

House Aide

CATHOLIC CHARITIES of the Diocese of Santa Rosa is a non-profit, public social service agency serving all people in need in Sonoma, Napa and Lake Counties. Currently we are recruiting for a House Aide, who is passionate about young adults, ages 18-24, who are endeavoring to achieve stability and success. This is a temporary, non-exempt position, reporting to the Regional Director and located in Napa.

POSITION SUMMARY

The House Aide oversees house activities at Rainbow House and HomeBase during the assigned shift. The HA interacts with the residents and maintains the routine of the house during the shift. This position covers the evening shift, approximately 5 to 10 p.m.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Interact daily with residents, document clients' progress and assist with problem solving. Monitor residents' follow-through on appointments and activities.

2. Enforce house rules, safety rules and resident responsibilities; maintain a safe, orderly environment and monitor noise level.

3. Complete staff household chores according to a prescribed schedule or as assigned. Report needed repairs or damage in a timely fashion.

4. Oversee and assist residents with dinner preparation and clean up.

5. Perform general office work including answering phones doing computer input, maintaining files and documenting resident progress.

6. Assure that emergency services are provided to residents as needed.

7. Support and provide guidance to clients about appropriate parenting skills, teach importance and techniques of problem solving, personal hygiene and cleanliness.

8. NOTE: Catholic Charities considers this position to be a mandated reporter of elder and child abuse.

Job Description

The Education, Prevention, & Outreach Program Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating a domestic violence education and outreach program for all sectors of Napa County. The program is designed to prevent domestic violence and, when such violence occurs, to reduce the time before services are sought. This position develops training materials and facilitates the various training and educational programs. This position also requires attending multiple community events throughout the year.

Qualifications

  • Dynamic public speaking skills
  • BA in a Social Science & experience in non-profit services preferred, relevant work experience in lieu of education also accepted
  • Experience working with at-risk communities & / or DV related issues preferred
  • Domestic Violence Counselor Certificate (or successfully attain after hire)
  • Valid California Driver’s License and current automobile insurance & reliable transportation
  • Demonstrated skill in program planning, presenting and record keeping
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
